I ordered a bonding pouch in the above fabric. Originally, I’d intended to purchase a bonding pouch from Dapper Rat, but taking into account shipping costs (seeing as I’m in the U.S.) and whether it was solid fabric or print, I feel I made the better choice - not to mention I got a cute print out of it! Who doesn’t like The Lion King?
I’ll also be sending the 35.00 for the Pooh set, as well, and overall, am dipping into around 100.00 of savings. Considering that fund is being used for a holiday in September, I was a little bit nervous to be paying off so many sellers I’d committed to buying from, but my sister assured and reassured me that the Universe will provide, and I trust that. In the meantime, I sent an e-mail to my grandfather briefly explaining the situation, and we’ll see if he either gifts me the money or gives me a loan… In any case, I’m satisfied with my purchases (all three blog posts of ‘em!) and can’t wait until they arrive. I’ll most likely be posting pictures of each item as it arrives, and then post pictures throughout the process of setting it all up and putting everything together.
Fun as it is, however, you’ll have to pardon my ignorance when I say it’s a lot different paying for the rats yourself as opposed to having Mummy and Daddy pay for them when you were five. It’s also different because you’ve researched enough to know what’s best for the rats and as such, aren’t afraid to indulge. I never expected the initial cost would come with such a handsome price tag, though… The savings I’m raising to contribute towards a veterinary fund? Yes, that’s understandable, but I never sat down and actually calculated the cost of the cage plus everything that’s going into it. Rats really are an investment, not only of time but of money, and I feel that’s something I should put out there, for people who are reading this blog and considering adding rats to their family. They really aren’t a “cheap-o” pet like a lot of people seem to think they are. Regardless, I have no doubt the love and affection my boys will give to me will be worth it all!
