More Purchase(s)
I found a couple people who are interested in doing the shelf liners, but ended up going with what I felt was the better deal. I’m getting two shelf liners, in light yellow and pale blue, and a pan liner, in whatever colour she decides, for 18.00 plus 4.95 shipping - 22.95 in total. I’m a little disappointed seeing as I’ll have to dip into my savings fund in order to purchase the Pooh set, considering my mother isn’t sure we’ll be able to deposit my paycheque over the weekend, but I figure having the cash compensation, and being able to deposit it by next week at the latest, should be enough to ease the disappointment. It’s not that I’m spending money I don’t have.
I heard back from another breeder that “came recommended.” She’s down south and transportation might be a problem; she brought up the possibility of a “rat train,” though said it was hard to arrange. I might talk to her and see if she’d recommend any NorCal ratteries, seeing as her rattery’s website is clean, professional and stocked with information; she’s also very professional, presentable and personable. She’s sending me her adoption application and said she’ll be happy to answer any questions I might have for her about her rattery, and I like the fact that she has an actual application that she’d like me to fill out, considering that’s something neither of the other breeders had for me (neither did they have any questions). Though it’s not always a tell-tale sign of who’s a good and who’s a better breeder, I can appreciate wanting to know where your rats are going and getting an idea of where they’ll ultimately end up.
I’m currently attempting to ease my impatient obsession with looking at people’s Martin’s Cages and playing around on GooseMoose, where it’s nice to meet other rat fanatics who embrace my excitement. I’ve met plenty of kind, patient people there, and it’s where I’m investing in the shelf liners etc. Lovely people to do business with!
